Description
As a Quality Control Technician, you will ensure compliance with our client’s quality program requirements on Field Services projects by performing independent verification of quality-related inspections. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this role works closely with Site Managers, Field Engineers, and Authorized Inspectors to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Undertake moderately complex technical assignments in support of activities that are part of an ongoing quality program.
- Perform quality control duties on projects/sites including:
• Perform monitoring of processes via MITPs.
• Ensure procedures are adhered to during project execution.
• Verify and maintain training records electronically in GTS or on paper records.
• Perform NDE related responsibilities on projects where union jurisdictions allow. - Work may be performed in a radiological environment.
- Perform material receipt and in-process inspections to ensure compliance to BWXT standards, technical specifications and the ASME code.
- Assist with the review and completion of Work Packages/History Dockets.
- Assist with procedure and MITP reviews.
- Perform vendor source inspection as required.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary NDE/Quality Technologist diploma or related education
- 3+ years industry experience required.
- CGSB Liquid Penetrant Level 2 Certification is a definite asset.
- CGSB Level 2 Certification in other NDE methods would be an asset.
- CWB Level 1 or 2 Certification would be an asset.
- A NDE background with a solid knowledge of all NDE processes is an asset.
- Familiarity with the ASME Code.
- Comfortable working in confined space situations.
- Comfortable working in a radiation environment.
- Willing to travel extensively (up to 70%) and work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with potential for extended hours (70+ per week).
- Must be able to work effectively in a group atmosphere and independently.
