Where you have specifically authorized Strategic Way to retain your information for future opportunities, we may maintain your résumé and professional profile within our confidential talent network and use that information to identify employment, contract, consulting or project opportunities that may align with your experience and interests.

Joining the Strategic Way Talent Network does not guarantee employment, placement, engagement or consideration for any particular opportunity.

You may withdraw your authorization to participate in the Talent Network by contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect uses or disclosures already lawfully made and may be subject to reasonable legal, contractual or record-retention requirements. Canadian privacy guidance recognizes an individual’s ability to withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

4. Professional Pathways™ and Supplier Pathways™

Information submitted through Professional Pathways™ is used to understand an individual’s professional background, experience, interests and career objectives and to develop relevant career, positioning, readiness and pathway recommendations.

Information submitted through Supplier Pathways™ is used to understand an organization’s capabilities, experience, objectives and potential alignment with Canada’s nuclear industry and to help determine an appropriate scope of support.

Information collected through these programs will be used for the purposes described when the information is collected and for reasonably related administrative and service-delivery purposes.

5. CORE™ – Nuclear Knowledge Connection

Information submitted through CORE™ may be used to understand organizational capability needs, identify relevant nuclear knowledge or expertise and evaluate potential alignment between experienced professionals and organizations requiring specialized capability.

Where appropriate, Strategic Way may communicate professional information to a prospective client or organization in connection with a potential opportunity. We will do so in accordance with the consent provided by the individual and applicable privacy requirements.

6. Consent

Strategic Way obtains consent for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information where required. Consent may be express or implied depending on the nature and sensitivity of the information and the circumstances in which it is provided.

For example, when you submit information through an intake or contact form, we may use that information to respond to your request and provide the service or information you requested.

Where we wish to retain a professional profile for broader future employment, contract or project opportunities, we may seek separate consent.

You may withdraw consent for future uses of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. PIPEDA requires consent to be meaningful: individuals should be able to understand the nature, purpose and consequences of the collection, use or disclosure to which they are consenting.

7. When We May Share Personal Information

Strategic Way does not sell personal information.

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:

  • evaluate or pursue an employment, contract, consulting or project opportunity with your consent;
  • provide services you have requested;
  • work with clients, contractors or service providers involved in delivering our services or operating our business;
  • operate and maintain our website, forms, email and information systems;

  • protect the rights, safety, security or property of Strategic Way or others; or
  • complete a corporate transaction where permitted by law.

Service providers may process information on our behalf. Strategic Way remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable measures to require service providers handling such information to provide appropriate protection. Current federal privacy guidance emphasizes that an organization remains accountable when personal information is processed by a third-party provider.

8. Processing and Storage Outside Canada

Some technology or service providers used by Strategic Way may store or process information outside Canada.

When personal information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies or government authorities in accordance with applicable law.

Strategic Way takes reasonable steps to ensure that service providers handling personal information on our behalf provide an appropriate level of protection. Canadian privacy guidance specifically recommends transparency when information may be processed outside Canada.

9. Retention of Personal Information

Strategic Way retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business records, or to satisfy legal, contractual or regulatory requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and the reason it was collected.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we take appropriate steps to securely delete, destroy or anonymize it.

Where an individual has authorized Strategic Way to retain their professional information for future opportunities, that information may be retained while the authorization remains relevant, subject to our retention practices and the individual’s right to withdraw consent.

PIPEDA’s retention principle requires organizations to keep personal information only as long as necessary for the identified purposes and to establish appropriate disposal practices.

10. Protecting Personal Information

Strategic Way uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

These measures may include restricted access, password and account controls, secure systems and services, confidentiality requirements and other measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse or alteration.

No electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore continually consider the nature and sensitivity of the information we hold when determining appropriate safeguards.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner recommends safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity, amount, format and distribution of personal information and the risks associated with it.

11. Website, Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for website functionality, security, performance and analytics.

These technologies may collect limited information about how visitors interact with our website, such as browser type, device information, pages visited and general website usage.

You may be able to control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect some website functionality.

If Strategic Way introduces new advertising, analytics or tracking technologies that materially change how personal information is collected or used, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social-media platforms or services.

Strategic Way is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of third-party websites or services. We encourage visitors to review the privacy policies of those organizations before providing personal information.

13. Accessing or Correcting Your Information

You may contact Strategic Way to request access to personal information we hold about you or to request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. Certain legal exceptions may limit the information we are able to provide.

Individuals generally have rights under PIPEDA to learn what personal information an organization holds about them, how it has been used and disclosed, and to challenge its accuracy and request appropriate corrections.

14. Requesting Removal of Your Information

You may contact us if you would like Strategic Way to stop using your information for future opportunities or to request deletion of personal information we hold about you.

Where appropriate, we will remove or securely delete information that is no longer required. In some circumstances, we may be required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, contractual, regulatory, dispute-resolution or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

15. Privacy Questions or Concerns

Strategic Way is accountable for the personal information under its control.

Questions, requests or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or Strategic Way’s handling of personal information may be directed to:

We will review and respond to privacy-related inquiries and concerns in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

PIPEDA’s openness principle specifically calls for organizations to make available the contact information for the person accountable for privacy and information about how individuals can access their information or raise a complaint.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Strategic Way may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our business, services, technology, legal obligations or privacy practices.

The current version will be posted on our website with the applicable effective or last-updated date.
